Stancik Quarter Horses would like to welcome Janet and Ken Hurlburts newest addition to the barn. His name is Diesel. He is by Chic Please out of her Dunnitinthebuff mare Buffy. He is two, and a full brother to her other gelding Duffy. Very very talented. We look forward to having the both of them in our program and are excited to watch them in the showpen. Welcome Diesel!

A special Thank You goes out to these ladies who helped out with our move to Paradise Stables in Woodinville. Janet Hurlburt, Caroline Schaefer, Sally Sutherland, Kaydee Johnston, and Portia Mc Cutchan. The amount of time and careful planning on there part made a huge impact on the move. Darren and I thank each and every one of you for your time and muscle power to get us through this.



Stancik Quarter Horses will be relocating to Paradise Stables as of December 1, 2008. We are looking forward to a fresh New Year with lots of shows and fun. Please come by and say hello.



Congratulations to Kevin Montgomery on the purchase of Light Dun Right owned by Janet and Ken Hurlburt. He is a beautiful colt by Smart Spook out of Janet’s Hollywood Dun It mare Buffy. We look forward to watching this young colt grow and mature to a great Reiner. Best wishes to Kevin.

Barn News


Congratulations to Kevin and Wendy Montgomery on the purchase of Pablo who was owned by Janet Hurlburt. Janet is now focusing on her 2-year-old “Duffy” who is out of her mare Dunnitinthebuff “Buffy” by Chic Please. Buffy, who is bred to Smart Spook, is also due to foal anytime, we are anxiously awaiting. We will keep you all posted……

WRHA Spring Fling


What a great way to start off the year at the WRHA Spring Fling in Wenatchee. The weather was perfect, the awards night was a delight, many wonderful awards were given out. And the BBQ!!!! Wow, great food. Thank you to Janet Hurlburt for putting that all together, great job!

Everyone had a very good time, horses were good, and a lot of goals accomplished. Shawna Porter and Cody on their very first show, took home 1st place in the Beginner Rider with a 70, 1st place in the Rookie with a 71.5 Nice job Shawna! Judy Caton and Parnelli 1st in the NRHA Non-Pro and 2nd In the NRHA Non-Pro, Amy Roy on Newton took 3rd in the Green Reiner Horse, Darren Stancik and Parnelli took 1st in both NRHA Open classes, 72 in one and 74 in the other. Dj Stancik on Hobbs took 1st in both of the NRHA 13 & under Youth classes, marked his first 71.5! Tied for 2nd with a 70 in his first NRHA Rookie class. Julie Walker and Marty was also in the running, 2nd in the Non-Pro and 6th in the NRHA Rookie. Stop Aholic and Julie also had some fun in the pen, as this was their first show together, Laurie Hughes and Baylee, always a pleasure to watch. 4th in the WRHA Beginner Rider, 6th in the NRHA Novice Horse Non-Pro, and 6th in the NRHA Rookie. Janet Hurlburt and Pablo were tied for 2nd in the WRHA Aged Horse Non-Pro and 4th in the NRHA Non-Pro, Judy Caton and Ebony were 6th in the NRHA Novice Horse Non-Pro. Great job to everyone on a very successful show
